As a member, you do not need to create a separate "My Hyatt" profile. However, if you do not wish to become a member of Hyatt Gold Passport, a "My Hyatt" profile can be created to simplify the reservation process on hyatt.com and allow you to sign up to receive e-mail from Hyatt.
